ABOUT US

Isadora’s Books & Café is named after Isadora Duncan (1877-1927); dancer, revolutionist, ardent defender of the poetic spirit. Isadora’s Books & Café of Snoqualmie, Washington was founded in 1990 and is family owned & operated. We at Isadora’s try to uphold the Isadora Duncan ideal of thinking and doing, of upholding a radical defiance of “things as they are” and the ability to express ideas with verve and humor.

Remember TWIN PEAKS? Filmed in the valley it helped us hit the pinnacle of our success, and from there? Who knows where you can go from there…

Perhaps to VISIONEERS? This movie had scenes filmed at Isadora’s and should be premiering at this summer's film festival. Watch for another great twist on the Snoqualmie Valley.

Place your hands as I do on your heart, listen to your soul, and all of you will know how to dance as well as I or my pupils do. There is the true revolution. Let the people place their hands in this way on their hearts, and in listening to their souls they will know how to conduct themselves.”

Isadara Duncan, Isadora Speaks, writing and speeches of Isadora Duncan.
